Water Smart Art Entry Guidelines

The Water Smart Art competition promotes water conservation by encouraging artists of all ages and levels to create artwork from recycled or reused materials.

Categories

If you turn on your tap in Southern Nevada, you're invited to submit an entry. You may enter in one of the following categories:

  • Students: grades K–2; 3rd–5th; 6th–8th; 9th–12th
  • Class or Group Projects
  • Adult Artists

Theme and concepts

The theme is "Conserve Water; Preserve Life." All entries should:

  1. Help teach our community the importance of water conservation in the desert.
  2. Demonstrate sustainability through the use and reuse of discarded or recycled materials.

Presentation

Submit your most inventive artwork in sculpture, collage, painting, photography, drawing, prints, mixed media, whatever you envision.

  • All artwork must include an entry form (PDF)
  • Artwork should be no larger than 4 feet by 4 feet
  • All entries must be ready for display (ready to hang with wire, framed, etc.)
  • All artists must be Southern Nevada residents
  • One submission per person. An exception may be made for school-age kids who submit a solo piece and a group project.
  • The use of plastic water bottles is discouraged.
