Dick CuppettAs the Energy Manager for Clark County School District (CCSD), Dick Cuppett monitors the usage of the school district's electric and gas energy as well as water.
Cuppett oversees all energy conservation activities within the school district, including projects designed to provide comfortable conditions for students while using the least amount of energy and water necessary. Cuppett and his staff work very closely with the Southern Nevada Water Authority, Nevada Power Company, Southwest Gas and the Nevada State Department of Energy to ensure efficiency and to investigate, test and implement emerging technologies.
Cuppett's team also provides general energy conservation program guides to all CCSD properties as well as specific energy conservation guides for custodians and other support staff.
Prior to joining the school district, Cuppett worked at Nevada by Design as a mechanical engineer in the Department of Special Projects and Renovation Services. He also served as vice president of marketing for ABF consulting engineers, as a chief mechanical engineer for Smith/Coupland-Moran Engineers an M/E consulting firm, as a senior mechanical engineer with consulting firm Petty & Associates and as president of consulting mechanical/electrical engineering firm Cuppett Design Associates, PC.
Cuppett received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and holds certifications with the Association of Energy Engineers, Nevada FOCUS/MAP and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering & Surveying (NCEES).
He and his wife, Eleonore, have two adult daughters, Eleonore and Margareta. In his free time, Cuppett enjoys playing tennis, walking and tackling home repair projects.
