Bear Grass
Nolina microcarpa
Great evergreen grass, has attractive filiferous curls on the ends of the leaves. Has an unattractive flower spike in spring which can be pruned out with a lopping shear. Do not attempt to pull out a leaf as the edges have a sawtooth and it will cut your hand. Water 2 times a month in growing season. Thin clumps occasionally to rejuvenate old plants.
