Miscanthus sinensis
Clumping ornamental grass. Fountaining, upright to weeping habit, depending on cultivar. Many cultivars available with varying size, foliage color, autumn color, flower color, and hardiness. Open, feathery plumes rise on stalks above the foliage. Most varieties have a silvery cast to the foliage and/or flowers when lit by the sun. For best look cut down to around 3 to 5 inches above the ground in winter or early spring. Invasive in parts of the U. S.
