Its common name 'lechuguilla' comes from the Spanish for 'little lettuce'. A small Agave that sometimes is an indicator plant to identify when entering the Chihuahuan desert this plant can form large clumps or colonies. Can be invasive. Excellent heat tolerance, will do better with some supplemental water in the summer.
