New Mexico Agave, Mescal
Agave neomexicana

This small New Mexico Agave is extremely drought tolerant and is able to withstand temperatures to -20F. To keep it from yellowing plant where it can receive afternoon shade. When the plant is mature, which takes 15 years or more, the yellow flowers emerge from reddish buds on 12 to 15 foot tall stalks.
