Sprenger Asparagus, Asparagus Fern
Asparagus densiflorus 'Sprengeri'
Mounding, trailing groundcover with bright green, ferny foliage. Has small thorns along the branches. When plant starts to become less vigorous, cut back to the ground in spring and it usually comes back with more vigor. Can get root rot in poorly drained soils. Best with amended soils and organic surface mulch. Slightly cold sensitive in our area, but usually comes back from the roots.
