Snow-in-Summer
Cerastium tomentosum

This low-growing perennial groundcover forms a mat of velvety, silver-gray foliage with masses of white flowers with yellow stamens. Spreads by underground runners to fill in an area. Also spreads by seed if allowed to go to seed. Works well as a container plant, in borders, rock gardens, or spilling over low walls. Shear off flower stems after bloom. Does best with some afternoon shade in our area. Feed 2 or 3 times a year. Individual plants are not long lived.
