Little Leaf Cordia, Little-leaf Cordia
Cordia parvifolia
A slightly open to dense shrub with an upright, spreading habit and stiff, arching branches. Small, deeply-veined, leathery, dark gray-green leaves form a good backdrop for the clusters of white, crape-textured flowers appearing in spring and fall. May bloom in summer with warm, humid conditions. A good choice for the xeric garden. Very drought tolerant and accepts reflected heat conditions. Works well as a screen or barrier plant. Can be used as an informal hedge, but give it plenty of room to fill in and don't shear. Minimal maintenance required. Turns deciduous only in drought conditions or severe cold.
