California Buckwheat, Wild Buckwheat, Eastern Mojave Buckwheat
Eriogonum fasciculatum

A compact, rounded, evergreen shrub with narrow, leathery, medium to dark green foliage and small clusters of white to pale pink flowers. A mass planting of this would have a striking appearance when in bloom. Use as a companion with other xeric plants such as Mojave Aster, Indigo Bush, Salvias and wildflowers. Does well on rocky road cuts and in shallow soils that are inhospitable to annual grasses. Would provide softening and contrast in a cactus garden. Cut back in winter or early spring to reduce woody growth.
