Creeping Fig
Ficus pumila

Aggressive but beautiful evergreen vine. Small, medium to dark green, heart-shaped leaves and delicate branches provide a lacy pattern while young. Fills in and puts on larger leaves and more woody growth in maturity. Has adventitious roots and root hairs which stick together to form an adhesive pad that will cling to nearly any surface. Likes shade to part shade in Las Vegas; too much sun and the foliage will become an unattractive yellow. Prefers amended soils. Cut to the ground every year or two to control its growth and renew the lacy growth pattern. Can deteriorate the surfaces it adheres to. Actual height and width will depend on the support structures available. Seldom flowers or fruits. Synonym: Ficus repens.
