Trailing Gazanias, Clumping Gazanias
Gazania leucolanea
Gazanias begin blooming in the spring and as temperatures rise, they bloom more heavily and continue for a long season. Too much water causes them to rot. They are good for edging and in beds. They can add a lot of color to xeric gardens. Traililng gazanias have silvery leaves but can die out in sections and leave a gap. Just break off a piece, plant it and water until it takes root. Clumping gazanias can be used in pots, rock gardens, and accents. These are resilient plants that add a lot of color and don't require much attention. Synonym: Gazania splendens
