Southwestern native. Mojave Desert native. Long flower-baring stems with glossy green triangular-shaped leaves growing up from a low rosette of leaves at the base. Upright to slightly sprawling growth habit. Bright red narrow tubular flowers with projecting stamens. Bees and hummingbirds love the flowers and the seeds are a food source for birds. May self-sow in the landscape. Cut stems off at the base after flowers spent or after seeds sown.
