Southwestern native. Mojave Desert native. Upright vibrant blue bell-shaped flowers with white to yellow tipped stamens. The green heart-shaped leaves are hairy, saw-toothed, distinctly veined, and often red-edged. Stems are a red-brown and hairy. Attracts bees and butterflies. Usually flowers in the spring, but may flower into early summer. May die off in the worst of the summer heat. If it survives the summer, dies off in the winter. May reseed in the landscape. Usually sold as seed.
