Pinus eldarica
Climate Resiliency
2 out of 5 stars
Upright pyramidal shape, like a christmas tree, when young. More irregularly shaped at maturity. Needles are medium green and 4-6 inches long. Needle drop can be cleaned up or left in place to mulch the soil. Requires minimal pruning. Remove lower limbs to raise the canopy if desired, but only one to two limbs per year. Pines will often drop lower limbs on their own as they mature. Good desert pine. Moderately susceptible to Texas root rot and pine tip moths. Synonym: Pinus brutia eldarica.
