Chinese Pistache
Pistacia chinensis

Qualifies for Tree Enhancement Program

Climate Resiliency 4 out of 5 stars

Spectacular fall color can be enjoyed from this tree. May be gawky looking when young, but will develop a rounded crown at maturity. Leaves are medium to dark green with finely-divided leaflets. Turns a brilliant red-orange or occasionally, yellow in autumn. Small flowers arrive in spring before the tree leafs out. Attractive bark. Prune for shape and to lift the crown if desired. Some litter from leaves and fruit twigs. Excellent summer shade tree. May be susceptible to Texas root rot, plant where it will have good drainage.
