Senna nemophila
Upright, rounded, dense habit. Bright green leaves are divided into 2 to 4, needlelike, 1inch long leaflets. Small clusters of bright yellow, pea-like flowers. Attract bees. Flattened, papery, dark brown seedpods. Seeds are a food source for birds. Survives on minimal water, but lusher growth and better flower display with just a little additional water. Some litter from seed and flower drop. Minimal pruning when left natural. Can be selectively thinned for a more open look. Avoid shearing. May die back partially or fully in severe cold. Established plants often come back from the roots. Synonym: Cassia nemophila, Senna artemisioides filifolia.
