Chinese wisteria
Wisteria sinensis
Woody vine. Develops a truck with age. Long, trailing, pea-like flowers bloom during leaf out. Heavy shade reduces number of blooms. Often sparsely foliated. Doesn't do well in temperatures above 105 degrees F. Poisonous if ingested. Both plant itself and its roots are invasive. Common flower color is purple, but has several cultivars with white and varying shades of blue/purple flowers.
