Soaptree Yucca
Yucca elata

Tree like Yucca that may reach 20 feet. Narrow flexible green leaves are 1 to 3 feet in length and have white margins and fibers. Waxy white flowers rise up to 15 feet above the plants in late spring. Mashed up roots are used to produce soap. Flower buds, flowers and stalks are all edible. Will accept full sun, be sure to provide good drainage. Excellent large plant for the landscape.
