Galleta Grass, Big Galleta
Pleuraphis rigida
Use this attractice perennial grass as a midground plant in both native and drought-tolerant landscapes. Give it some room to prevent it from looking messy. Big galleta is found on dry, open, sandy to rocky slopes and flats, on sand dunes, and in bajadas, scrublands, woodlands, and desert areas. Big galleta occurs on all soil textures, but displays poor growth on clays.
