Bush Seepweed, Mojave Seablite
Suaeda moquinii

The purple-tinted stems of this plant provide contrast to the silver foliage of other desert plants. Don't mass plant Mojave Seablite or the branches will interlock and look untidy. Instead, use as a middle ground plant. Plant it with saltbushes in a wildlife garden for a natural community effect. Prune to shape during the winter. It is native to much of western North America, from central Canada through the western United States, into Mexico. It grows in many types of habitat with saline and alkaline substrates, such as desert flats, playas, and seeps.
